Products


  • Guarantee for trade receivables and loss on claim guarantee:
    • Covers the risk of your foreign buyer failing to make payments as per the agreement
    • Cover: Up to 95%
    • Tenor: Up to 12 months
    • SMEs may finance receivables through Almi
  • Guarantee for loss on production and loss on claim:
    • Covers the risk that foreign buyer fails to make payments as per the agreement. It also covers accumulated costs that the exporter cannot invoice because the buyer has cancelled the agreement
    • Guarantee is based on accumulated cost (excluding profit margin)
    • Cover: Up to 95%
    • Tenor: Up to 24 months
  • Guarantee for unfair calling:
    • Covers the risk of unfair calling of a contract guarantee by the buyer
    • It is used almost exclusively for unconditional contract guarantees (on-demand guarantees), where the buyer is entitled to request payment from the issuing bank without giving a reason
    • Cover: Up to 90%
  • Covers non-payment by the borrower under the credit agreement, in favor of banks
    • For comprehensive risk or political risk only
    • Cover: Up to 95%
  • Counter guarantee: Covers the issuer’s recourse risk on the seller if the beneficiary, normally the buyer, requests payment
    • May cover various types of contract guarantee, such as an advance payment guarantee or a performance guarantee. These are usually of the on-demand type
  • Bill of exchange guarantee:
    • Covers non-payment of the bill of exchange
  • Letter of credit guarantee:
    • 50% of the total confirmed amount can be guaranteed by EKN
  • Working capital credit guarantee for SME:
    • A bank or Almi shares the risk with EKN when providing working capital credit guarantees in the form of loans, invoice financing or overdraft facilities
    • Cover: 50%
  • The Export Leap:
    • When a bank issues working capital credit guarantees of up to and including SEK 10 million in the form of loans, credit lines or overdraft facilities, or offers invoice financing services to growth companies, EKN covers up to 75 per cent of the creditor’s risk
    • Tenor: Up to 12 months (may be extended to 2 years)
    • If the application concerns a credit that does not involve financing for a specific export transaction, at least 25% of the creditor’s sales must comprise or be expected to comprise exports of Swedish goods or services
  • Green credit guarantee:
    • EKN shares the bank’s risk when issuing a loan, overdraft or revolving credit facility for green investments or green operations in Sweden
    • Cover: Up to 80%
    • Amount: Up to SEK 500 million
  • Credit guarantee to secure access to raw materials
    • Ccredit guarantee in favour of banks and covers non-payment by the supplier under the credit agreement
    • The raw material supplier needs to be situated abroad
    • Significant Swedish public interest or that the activity is otherwise deemed to be of significant benefit to economic development in Sweden
    • Trading houses are not eligible
    • Cover: Up to 90% (non-European debtors) 80% (European debtors)
    • Refer to eligible list of raw materials
  • Political risk insurance for investments abroad:
    • Cover: Up to 90%
  • Guarantee for investment credits for banks
    • Facilitates investment in production facilities and machines in Sweden
    • The guarantee for investment credits is issued to banks and other credit institutions that provide credit to SMEs
    • Cover: 50%
  • Other products include guarantee for loss on production and loss on claim and combined guarantee

  • EU rules limit EKN’s guarantees for trade receivables and loss on claims to a risk period longer than 2 years for exports to any EU country, as well as Australia, Iceland, Japan, Canada, Norway, New Zealand, Switzerland, the UK, and the United States
